The White Glove Option truly is quite simple. In addition to our standard protection that every job gets; i.e. our Door, Jam and Floor Protection we provide our superior White Glove Pack.

With our white glove pack we cover your goods from the bottom up, that is 100% coverage! We secure this pad wrap with Bio-Degradable Shrink wrap and rubber bands to secure these pads in the place of tape as much as possible as it isn’t recyclable nor does it degrade quickly! We actually utilize white-gloves as well to help eliminate any transfer of dirt and grime. As most people know Oregon and Washington can be wet at times, we safe guard your light colored furniture with re-usable plastic sheeting to eliminate any “bleeding” of pads while we transport your good through our wonderful weather.

As you can see from the photo above we provide protection not just for your furniture but your home. This pad protection helps with that, where our Door and Jam Pads do a great job of protecting you entry ways they do nothing for your hallways, walls and stairwells. The white-glove pack adds another level of protection that helps prevent the “normal” moving damage that even the best trained moving crews seem to not be able to avoid.

Our receiving area at our warehouse is extremely well lit for our inspections.  This same receiving area is carpeted, as is our floor storage and the floor level of our pallet racking! We also utilize carpet covered pallets in our warehouse!

We take the time to not “double stack” delivery goods in our trucks, and our teams of specialists are highly trained in how to handle and carry goods. This not only helps to protect your goods but your homes and offices as well. We protect your homes with door, jam, railing and floor protection! We lay out the “Red Carpet’ for you and your clients! We utilize reusable washable booties when we go off of our floor protection. We always have felt on hand to place on the furniture we deliver to help protect your floors. After we have assembled and placed your items we will wipe them down and inform you on how to best care for them! We strive to be the best!

In 2007 we had a delivery for the Lance Armstrong Foundation that required we run Bio-Fuel and offset our emissions. This was intimidating at first but after the initial research it was intoxicating. That initial research led to implementing many new practices and equipment. As well as building many new relationships that help our sustainability evolve and grow! We are absolutely thrilled to be able to participate in this years awards and hope to be recognized for the hard work we have put into our sustainability.

That Sustainability goes far beyond being “green” or “earth-friendly”. Sustainability to us means caring for the local economy and our employees, as well as the environment. We have built a sustainability plan that we utilize to set guidelines and annual goals. Part of this is our purchasing policy, which has a very serious focus on purchasing local products and from locally owned companies first! We have already performed jobs for a few customers directed to us from them have gotten feedback. The question was asked on how we performed and this was the reply.

To answer your question, they were excellent overall.

We had a complex emotional move relocating my elderly mother-in-law from the retirement home she and my late father-in-law had been living for years to our home where we converted an upstairs bonus room into an apartment for her.  Lion’s Pride communicated with me the day of the move to let me know exactly when they would arrive and they were very polite and courteous to all parties.  They wasted no time in getting going and worked right through.  We actually had four stops on this move (two with stairs) and they were as cheerful at the end as in the beginning… after five long hours.  Their charges were exact to the penny, I felt very comfortable having them present and I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

Why do we do this? Well the pallets are sturdy and perfect for furniture. They can last us a very, very, very long time. In fact we have yet to have to recycle one! We carpet them to protect your belongings, as do we carpet our receiving areas and the floor under our pallet racking. This all might seem minor  but believe me the carpet on the pallets prevents the damage that wood can do to the bottom of your furniture, such as gouges to the feet of chairs and the bottoms of dressers. It also saves your upholstered items from punctures and tears from slivers and rough planks. I can’t count the times we have picked an item up at a local warehouse and there has been damage that would have been prevented at our warehouse. We do our best to be proactive and this is just one of our ways we do so!

At that time I met Kathleen Nash of the local DWR studio and was very impressed with her knowledge and attitude towards her store’s furniture and her clients. We were a perfect match, both of us care deeply about our clients. We also share a love of well made and designed furniture.  We have been working with the DWR Portland Studio ever since. That said we had only been doing the deliveries from their showroom and installations.

Two weeks ago we started a new chapter in this odyssey when I inked a deal with DWR’s national logistics company for the local market. Now we not only perform deliveries and installations from and in the local DWR showroom but are the sole white-glove receiving and delivery agent for DWR in the Portland market.

As with every journey there have been some difficult things to overcome. Nothing comes easy in this world but this journey has been worth it. Not just for us or DWR but for DWR’s clients as well! The quality of service they are about to be introduced to I believe is unmatched locally.

I truly believe this will be a long and fruitful relationship and am proud to announce it.

This was just one of many amazing pieces that the guys down at Master Furniture Makers crafted into elegant office furniture for the foundation from Bill’s designs.

It was a complete white-glove affair, with the pieces being fully covered and making sure that the truck was loaded specifically utilizing a single tier to eliminate any stacking of items. Keeping with Solid Core’s sustainable vision and that of LionsPride’s own the truck ran Bio-Deisel and the remainder of the carbon foot print was offset via TerraPass!

The job went very well, so well that this is what was sent to us after it was completed,

LionsPride Sustainable Moving Delivery and Storage is a family and we think about the community with everything we do! We have been for the last 2 years collecting food for the Oregon Food Bank and decided to blog about it to help our donations grow.

Now while being the first is great, we hope that we won’t be the last. As members of the Oregon Moving & Storage Association, Washington Movers Conference/Washington Trucking Association, the Sustainable Business Network of Portland, Local First and working closely with Cascade Sierra Solutions we hope to be able to share what we have learned with the local and national industry. We have found that we can easily operate earth-friendly, with a focus on supporting our local economy and not have to charge more.

Something we are really proud of is we can actually claim to have a zero carbon foot print on our trucks. Currently we are running b20 during the winter and as much b50 as we can during the summer. In addition to this we have a retrofit DPF from Donaldson Filtration Systems that captures our emissions and re burns what wasn’t originally burnt. The retrofitted DPF lowers our emissions by over 85% alone. We then offset with TerraPass any remaining emissions! We are not only green on the road but in our warehouse/office as well read more about our green practices here!

We aren’t done, we are ever researching new technology and practices to implement. We know we have just begun…

We strive to be transparent. We don’t have any hidden fees and even help you understand how you can make a job more affordable. Our rates are standard as most of the rates in our industry are. Our rates come from the Oregon Moving & Storage Association and the UTC (Washington). We have chosen in Oregon a higher of two rates. Why you might ask? Well the answer is simple. With the higher rate we are not allowed to charge you for the drive time to and from you locations, just between. This simplifies billing enormously. At the end of the day for most jobs it evens out and doesn’t allow companies to charge for traffic delays while en route to a clients, stopping at the store/gas station, prepping the truck, or long out of the way routes.

We take pride in our ability to do the hard jobs and do them well. Our integrity is strong and we enjoy finding solutions for problems as they arise, meeting them head on. Being solution based has moved us to where we sit today not being problem based! We want you the clients to rant and rave about the services we perform for you and to know no one could have done better. Especially in an industry that has a dark cloud of it for companies taking advantage of it’s clients. Companies having hidden charges, breaking items and not fixing/replacing, holding peoples goods hostage etc etc..

We take an enormous amount of pride in our work. We not only want to be a Green Moving Company but we want to be the  BEST Moving, Delivery and Storage company around!

When giving an estimate many factors come into play. We take into consideration everything that we can. Including but not limited to – elevators, long carries, disassembling and re assembling of furniture, distance of move, and parking. As I said this is not a complete list. Each move comes with it’s own set of rules and requirements.

Once I am done with the number crunching on an estimate I like to work with the customer to see how the costs can be offset or reduced. This generally involves more work for the customer but at a cost savings. For instance breaking down bed frames or taking apart any furniture that will need to be disassembled for a move. We want our customers to be comfortable and happy with the services that we provide. Sometimes that means that we provide more. Sometimes it means that we provide less.

One area that we will not change is our standards. We set the bar high for our moving specialists and by dropping that bar it creates bad habits. At LionsPride we foster good habits by keeping that bar high. Part of that is how we treat our customers homes and household goods. Our customers provide us not only with the job we are doing for them but with referrals and repeat business. We teach our specialists to take great care with our clients goods as well as their dwellings. We actively strive for no damage with every job we take.

By having me or my associates come out and supply you with a free estimate we hope to educate you on what care we take and how responsible we are with your move. One of the reasons that I love working here is this. It is great at the end of the day to be able to know that during stressful times for our customers we are able to help and alleviate some of that stress.
